What is the Bulls and Apes project and what makes it special?
The Bulls & Apes Project is a community-driven digital collectibles company creating technology solutions that use decentralized blockchain platforms to provide power and control to owners of digital assets. We focus on building and growing side by side with the BAP community while creating a world of endless possibilities by empowering these communities to build worlds where they can live their best lives.
What was the inspiration behind the collection?
We wanted to create a collection that would resonate with people joining the web3 space. For us, a bull charging forward with power and a monkey leaping with reckless abandon captured the essence of those leaping into the uncharted territory known as Web3.
What does the latest Monkeys drop add to the Bulls and Monkeys project?
In our story we have a Creator character who created the bulls as a masterpiece. Bulls lived in harmony, but did not realize their true potential. There was no tension, no conflict to push them forward, which in turn stifled their progress. Realizing this, the Creator introduces the monkeys to create the necessary tension and conflict and push the bulls to new levels. Some monkeys joined the Bulls and lived side by side as friends. For our community and our company, monkeys take us beyond the traditional PFP collection as they are a dynamic NFT(dNFT) collection. But we didn’t just launch a dNFT collection, we launched an ecosystem and suite of products that will change what it means to deliver NFT utility.
How does using dynamic NFTs improve the experience for NFT holders?
dNFTs bring power, control and creativity to digital identity holders, especially for our collection. We’ve delivered a complete ecosystem with over 1,000 traits and trillions of combinations available, with many more traits yet to be released. Our ecosystem enables our collection to evolve as demand and tastes evolve, ensuring that holders will have a constant stream of options and entertainment to keep their NFTs fresh and exciting.
What are Bulls and Apes loot boxes and how do they work?
Loot boxes are another product in Ape’s product suite. We have 6 initial products – Configurator, Loot Boxes, Tokenomics, Dynamic Rarity, Achievements and Formulas. Loot boxes are the main mechanism for owners to release new features to their wallet. As such we have regular, epic and legendary loot boxes. Regular loot boxes are opened with our erc20 token, $METH, which can be earned by holding bulls and other assets or purchased on our website. Epic and legendary loot boxes are opened with eth, but even regular loot boxes contain a chance to reveal an epic or legendary trait. With the loot box mechanic, every day is like a mint, you never know when you might land a super rare gold streak.
How do you see the development of the project in the coming years?
We are a company focused on relentless delivery. We shipped an insane amount in our first year in business and plan to increase this even more in 2023. In addition to shipping, 2023 will be a year of brand expansion as we work both inside and outside the NFT space to we build partnerships and make BAP a well-known brand. We also have a multi-generational IP that we tested with 8 chapters of erudition and a narrated storyboard video that was well received. The next test is a physical trading card game that is currently in development.
How will you continue to interact with the owners of the Bulls and Apes project?
Always. The beauty of web3 is having a community you can build side by side, but that comes with a huge responsibility. Even if you step away for a week or two, you can feel the vacuum. Attention spans are short and patience is low, so making the founder accessible and present is critical.
Which faction do you prefer Bulls or Monkeys?
Bulls, I’m loyal and they were the first.
Do you think NFTs have the potential to change the world?
That’s why I’m here. I left a very successful career in the corporate world to be here full time. At its core, blockchain is a technology that can and will empower, power and control so many who have been constrained by gatekeepers and middlemen. Think of the bankers, lawyers, agents, producers, politicians and the list goes on who have power and control because they are gatekeepers and middlemen. What gives them this power is access and control over the assets we “own”. In the future, blockchain will remove this burden as it is public and permissionless, leaving you in full control of your assets. This is too important to society NOT to be all-in. In this space, the founders are the guardians, helping to establish a framework in which the holders will thrive. That’s why I’m here.
