Welcome to Good Burger! After years of teasing a sequelKenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell have confirmed that “Good Burger 2” will begin filming this summer with their March 17 release on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The film will be released later this year on Paramount+.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Kel has something he would like to tell you,” Thompson teased before giving the announcement to his costar. Mitchell continued, “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger . . . part two!”
Fallon and the crowd immediately went wild. In fact, the host even jumped on the guest couch to show how pumped he is that “Good Burger 2” is finally happening. His reaction was fitting since the former “SNL” star has been a longtime supporter of the film. As he mentioned at the top of the interview, he “All That” stars reunited for the “Good Burger” sketch in 2015.
“We’re going to shoot it this summer, and it’s going to be released soon,” Thompson continued. When asked what will happen in “Good Burger 2,” the “SNL” actress teased that there would be “hijinks” and shared that they “want as many cameos as we can get.”
Thompson and Mitchell starred in their 1997 children’s comedy as two goofy friends, Dexter and Ed, who spend their summers working at a local fast-food joint. In a statement, Thompson expressed his excitement at starring in the film’s sequel 25 years later.
“I can’t believe it’s been over 25 years since the birth of great customer service at Good Burger!” he said. “Being a part of something that has been loved by so many generations of people has made me grow and now I’m back where it all started working on the sequel! Love acting with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”
Mitchell added, “Ed is one of those timeless characters that has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such a blessing to still be doing so after all these years. It’s great to be back and continue the stories. by Dex, Ed and Good Burger for people who grew up watching and their kids.”
“Good Burger” started as a joke “All That” sketch, led by Mitchell, but quickly became a nostalgic hit that fans still command to this day. “Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, can I take your order?” is just one of many memorable quotes from the film, so hearing it again in the sequel will be a real treat for ’90s kids.

Who is in the cast of “Good Burger 2”?
So far, the only confirmed cast members are Mitchell and Thompson. As Thompson teases, the duo hopes to feature as many celeb cameos as possible. Among them could be Fallon, who expressed interest in appearing in the film during his interview with the film’s stars. The first film included appearances by Linda Cardellini, “All That” star Lori Beth Denberg, Sinbad, and Shaquille O’Neal as himself.

Paramount+ revealed details about what fans can expect to see in the second film in a press release. According to the official synopsis, Dexter Reed returns to Good Burger to work with his old friend Ed after another one of his inventions fails. While Ed is excited to have Dex back, his friend’s plans to start his own career could end Good Burger forever.
