We named the Occer 12×25 binoculars as one of the best binoculars for kids because they are compact, lightweight and affordable. We give them three and a half stars out of our five Occer 12×25 binoculars review and now the The Occer 12×25 binoculars retail for $35.99 (opens in new tab) on Amazon, and you can add an additional 15% off coupon to bring them down to almost half price.
Although made by a lesser-known brand than you’re used to seeing here at Space, we found after our review that they’re actually a good contender to other more expensive compact binocular brands. The optical prism is made from BaK-4 glass to ensure an optimal viewing experience. These bitesize binoculars are for mid to long-range observation, such as moonwatching, bird watching, live events and sports. The flip-down rubber eyecups only provide 15mm of eye relief so aren’t really suitable for comfortable use by glasses wearers, but they’re so small and convenient we think they’re worth the money.
Good things come in small packages has never been truer with the Occer 12×25 Binoculars. As the name suggests, it has 12x magnification and is easy to hold in one hand (110 mm x 50 mm 8.8 oz / 249 g). The body is made from durable ABS plastic and is covered with rubber armor to protect the body and the ample texturing provides a secure grip.
The optical prism is made from BaK-4 glass, superior to the BK-7 glass commonly found in cheaper binoculars. They are fully multi-coated on the objective and eyepiece lenses. This helps reduce glare and ensures even light transmission making your optical experience pleasant.
The rubber eyepieces come down to provide comfort, especially for eyeglass wearers but note that this only provides 15mm of eye relief which may not be enough for some users. Also, due to their small design the interpupillary distance of the eyepieces may not be wide enough for some adults (although we found it worked well for us). Engineers at Occer took into account people with Myopia or Anti-Stigmastims, which cause issues with how your eyes receive light. The Occer 12×25 is reportedly ergonomically designed to preserve the optical experience for those with this condition.
We already think these are a great binocular for kids or for use as a small, compact binocular but in a saving nearly half off Occer binoculars (opens in new tab)we suggest getting this pair, especially if you’re happy to spend around $30 but want a pair of decent quality binoculars to take with you on the go.
