The Oscars may be the biggest night at the movies, but it wouldn’t be half as exciting without the fashion.
Stars make the red carpet (which, for the first time in 62 years, is actually a champagne color) outside Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater, ahead of the 95 Academy Awards.
And judging from the arrivals, celebrities aren’t playing it safe with their style. Many stars leaned into maximalist themes, with lots of extravagant fabrics, bold prints and bright pops of color.

Tonight’s star-studded ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, who joked that the red carpet color change may be a pre-emptive measure to keep things civil.
“People are asking if there’s going to be any trouble this year. I certainly hope not,” he told The Hollywood Reporter, referring to the moment Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. “But if anything, I think the decision to go on a champagne carpet instead of a red carpet shows how confident we are that no blood was shed.”
