Oscars 2023 winners list: Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis win for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ – National


Hollywood’s biggest stars descended on Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater for the 95th Academy Awards to celebrate the magic of filmmaking.

Jimmy Kimmel returns to host Oscars for the third time and brought the special charm of the film with a nod to Top Gun: Maverick. Kimmel took to the stage wearing a parachute after appearing in a short sketch that saw Tom Cruise eject Kimmel from the back seat of his jet.

The first award of the night, Best Animated Feature Film, went to Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro. Del Toro and his crew accepted the honor and praised stop motion films for being “alive and well.”

This is the year the Oscars return and Ke Huy Quan it was introduced when he won as Best Supporting Actor. Quan, who hasn’t had mainstream success since he was young Encino manbecame emotional while accepting the award for her role in Everything Everywhere Everything at once.

“Mom, I just won an Oscar!” Quan tearfully declared as he held his award. “This is the American dream.”

“Dreams are something you have to believe in. I almost gave up on mine. To all of you there, please keep your dreams alive,” he said.

Everything Everywhere Everything at once Its winning streak continued when Jamie Lee Curtis took home Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film. Curtis broke down in tears as he thanked the crew, his family and the “hundreds of thousands” of people who have seen his films over the years.

Even Everything Everywhere Everything at once leads this year’s nominations with 11 honors, there’s still stiff competition for Best Picture, with Steven Spielberg’s mind-bending drama. The Fabelmans and the Colin Farrell-led Irish tragicomedy The Banshees of Inisherin.

Throughout the evening there were many jokes about the past year”slap heard around the world.” At the 2022 Oscars ceremony, comedian Chris Rock was slapped by Will Smith after he made a GI Jane joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from the skin condition alopecia. Smith yelled at Rock to “keep my wife’s name out of your mouth!”
