Original Rocket’s Lab The launch was delayed due to high winds at the launch site at Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
“We have backup opportunities next week and will share a new target launch date as soon as possible”, Rocket Lab said on Saturday after the mission was aborted.
Rocket Lab has remained somewhat mysterious, but indicated that a launch could occur on March 15.
“Rocket Lab is targeting no earlier than Wednesday, March 15, for their next Electron launch attempt from Wallops, with a 6-8 pm EDT launch window. We continue to monitor weather, so stay tuned for updates,” the company said.
According to NASA, the 59-foot Electron rocket will be visible in New Jersey between 60 and 120 seconds after liftoff. The launch can also be viewed online via Wallops Flight Facility live stream.
Electron is Rocket Lab’s second launch for Earth observation company Capella Space and will carry two SARs, Synthetic Aperture Radars, into space. The first launched in January 2023.
